Jasveen Sangha, widely known in pop culture as the “Ketamine Queen,” has agreed to plead guilty to charges connected to the tragic death of Friends actor Matthew Perry. The 42-year-old dual U.S. and U.K. citizen faces up to 45 years in prison after admitting Monday to her role in supplying Perry with ketamine.

Sangha was charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute ketamine, and five counts of distribution of ketamine. According to prosecutors, Perry paid Sangha $6,000 in cash for 25 vials of ketamine just four days before his death in October 2023.

She is one of five people charged in the case. Dr. Salvador Plasencia, another key figure, signed a plea deal in June after admitting to providing Perry with vials of the drug. Three others have already pleaded guilty in exchange for cooperating with investigators.

Perry, who openly shared his struggles with addiction in his 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, had been undergoing ketamine therapy for depression and anxiety at the time of his passing. On October 28, 2023, the beloved actor was found unresponsive in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home. The coroner’s report revealed ketamine toxicity as a leading cause of death, noting the levels in his system were consistent with those used in surgical anesthesia.

Though Perry’s death was mired in controversy, his life remains defined by his artistry and advocacy. Best known for his role as the sarcastic and lovable Chandler Bing on Friends, Perry brought laughter to millions while also working tirelessly to raise awareness about addiction and recovery. He even founded the Perry House, a sober living facility in Malibu, as part of his mission to help others find hope.

As Perry once wrote, he hoped to be remembered not just for Friends, but for trying to save lives. While the legal system now deals with those tied to his death, fans and loved ones continue to honor his legacy: an actor who made the world laugh — and a man who fought to turn his own struggles into light for others.
