The Trump Organization’s new cellular venture, Trump Mobile, is delaying the launch of its first smartphone, the “T1 Phone,” until October, a spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY. The company had initially promised an August release.
Announced in June by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., Trump Mobile marks the family’s entry into the crowded wireless market, offering both a branded smartphone and its own network service plan. The service, dubbed The 47 Plan—a nod to Donald Trump’s pursuit of a second term as the 47th president—promises unlimited talk, text, and data, nationwide 5G coverage, roadside assistance, free international calling to 100 countries, and access to telehealth services for $47.45 per month.
The T1 Phone itself, available for preorder at $499 with a $100 down payment, boasts features such as:
- AI-powered face unlocking
- An in-screen fingerprint sensor
- 256 GB of storage
- Android 15 operating system
- USB-C charging port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack
Originally advertised as being built in the United States, the Trump Mobile website now says the device will be “designed with American values in mind.”
Entrepreneur Pat O’Brien, part of the Trump Mobile leadership team, suggested that while the T1 is the company’s first step, additional devices could be on the horizon. He noted strong preorder interest but declined to share specific figures.
The Trump Organization has not explained the reason for the two-month delay, leaving eager supporters waiting until the fall to see whether the T1 Phone can compete in a saturated smartphone market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
