Alter Bridge has been quite busy over the past 3 years since the release of BlackBird. After Mark Tremonti, Scott Philips and Brian Marshall went and joined Scott Stapp in a Creed reunion, Myles Kennedy went forth and worked on two different projects. His yet to be titled Solo Debut Album, and also working with Slash on his solo debut album entitled Slash. Kennedy has two songs on the album called “Back From Cali” and “Starlight”, and he is also fronting Slash’s touring band. Well, with all that, the band also announced their newest album, ABIII.
Earlier this year, Myles, Mark, Scott, and Brian all got together to work on the album they would call ABIII. Ironically, ABIII became the title of the new album. For months, all the band would say is that the new album would be darker, more poetic, and something that the band has never done before. By the way of the tracklist, i am excited to see what the entire album sounds like.
What is the tracklist? Well, ask and you shall receive. Here is a statement made by Alter Bridge in August:
“Hello Alter Bridge Nation,
We told you that we would give you information as soon as we get it and now we are making good on that pledge. We have decided to name our upcoming album AB III. It is simple yet effective, in our opinion.
We have also chosen which songs will be on the album and we think all of you fans will be very happy about what we chose. We will update this track listing throughout the day so stay tuned to this message for updates.

Not only did they announce the track list, they also partnered with Roadrunner Records. The first single from the album is Isolation, which you can listen to in the Youtube link above.
My Thoughts: I have been waiting for 3 years for my hit of Alter Bridge. I have been an avid follower of this band since they released their Debut album, One Day Remains. Alter Bridge has been true to themselves since the start, and they continuously make a new sound with every album they produce. the 2007 release of Blackbird showcased to the world that Alter Bridge was here to stay.
I wonder if this ABIII can possibly top Blackbird, which set the bar so high for this band, that I can hardly imagine the band exceeding it. “Isolation” is just a glimpse of what the band has in store for 2010-2011. If the rest of the songs on the album are of similar standard, then the album will be good. But I am not looking for “good”, I am looking for phenomenal. Its the only way to go for this band.
