CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is under fire for advising his brother and disgraced former Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.
The new line of scrutiny comes after it was revealed how involved Chris was in his brothers response to sexual assault allegations. The New York Post reports that text messages and interview transcripts have been made public that show how hands on Chris was.
According to the report, Chris reached out to “sources” in the news world for more information. Chris has claimed to be more of a sounding board and offer his “take” on the matter.
CNN released a statement that has many wondering if Chris will still be a host over at the network. “The thousands of pages of additional transcripts and exhibits that were released today by the NY Attorney General deserve a thorough review and consideration,” the statement said.
“We will be having conversations and seeking additional clarity about their significance as they relate to CNN over the next several days.”
Some of the text messages that have been release show Andrew Cuomo’s top aide Melissa DeRosa asking Chris to reach out to sources.
In a March 7 text, DeRosa wrote, “Rumor going around from politico 1-2 more ppl coming out tomorrow.”
“Can u check your sources,” she added.
“On it,” Chris Cuomo replied back. Chris Cuomo appreared to have no issues using his CNN sources, resources, and reach to help his brother out in a clear conflict of interest.
We will keep our eyes on the situation and see if the Cuomo Primetime is let go from CNN.
