Headline: Elon Musk’s X Launches Premium+ Subscription Plan for an Ad-Free Experience
Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), introduced two new subscription plans on Friday, further advancing his efforts to monetize the platform and expand its offerings.
Premium+ Plan: X unveiled the Premium+ plan, available for approximately $16 per month, providing users with an ad-free experience. This subscription tier includes all the platform’s features and tools while eliminating advertisements. However, this feature is currently accessible only through X’s web browser version.
Basic Tier: In addition to Premium+, X offers a basic subscription tier, priced at $3 per month, which does not provide an ad-free experience.
Enhanced Offerings: Musk has shown a commitment to transforming X into an all-encompassing platform, incorporating features like video and audio calling. These enhancements align with Musk’s vision of an “everything app” that extends beyond traditional social media.
Elon Musk acquired X for $44 billion in October 2022 and has been exploring various strategies to monetize and expand the platform’s capabilities. With the introduction of Premium+ and other features, X continues its evolution under Musk’s leadership.
