Governors Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis Set to Face Off in Televised Debate Moderated by Sean Hannity
In a highly anticipated political showdown, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are officially scheduled to engage in a televised debate. The event will be moderated by Fox News’ 9 p.m. host, Sean Hannity, and is slated to take place on Thursday, November 30th in the state of Georgia. This 90-minute debate will be integrated into Hannity’s program, airing at 9 p.m., with the precise location yet to be determined.
The concept of a debate between these two prominent governors emerged following Hannity’s interview with Newsom in June, with DeSantis agreeing to participate in July. Although some logistical challenges around timing and the venue briefly cast doubt on the debate’s feasibility, it is now confirmed.
“I’m looking forward to providing viewers with an informative debate about the everyday issues and governing philosophies that impact the lives of every American,” said Sean Hannity in a statement.
Fox News has been a key player in hosting Republican primary debates, with the channel’s first GOP debate in August attracting approximately 13 million viewers. The second GOP debate is scheduled for September 27th and will be hosted by Fox Business Network and Univision, simulcast on Fox News.
However, the DeSantis-Newsom debate represents a different kind of political spectacle, offering these governors a significant platform within Fox News’ prime-time lineup to present their respective positions and engage in a substantive discussion on critical issues.
