Jim Ross Sets the Record Straight on WWE 2K Event Controversy

Jim Ross Denies Being Drunk at WWE 2K Event

WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross has denied being drunk at the WWE 2K event that led to his exit from the promotion.

In August 2013, Ross hosted a panel revealing the roster for the WWE 2K14 video game. During the event, Ross used profanity, showed little interest in the topics discussed, and mocked one of the sponsors. Ric Flair, another panelist, was also believed to be heavily intoxicated and made off-color remarks.

Less than a month after the panel, Ross announced his ‘retirement’ from WWE, although many suspected he was fired due to the WWE 2K14 panel.

Ross recently addressed the event on his Grilling JR podcast, stating that he had a cocktail but wasn’t drunk. He expressed regret over his performance and how he represented the company, acknowledging that it wasn’t a good day.

Jim Ross is known for his long and iconic career as a wrestling commentator, working for both WWE and AEW (All Elite Wrestling).
