“Glee” star Lea Michele is asking for privacy following the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith. A rep for the actress released a statement to “People” on Sunday, requesting that “everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.”
News that 31-year-old Monteith had been found dead in his Vancouver hotel room came out on Saturday night. Police say his body was found by hotel staff when he failed to check out that day.

A cause of death for the actor, who had spent over a month in rehab for substance abuse in April, has not been determined but no foul play has been suspected. Lea, along with many of his other castmates on the hit Fox musical comedy, had publicly supported him during the stint in rehab.
Cory and Lea’s romance started in 2009 as the breakout stars of “Glee,” which returns to Fox in September
