Initial Tests Indicate No Fentanyl or Meth Overdose in Matthew Perry’s Death
Initial tests conducted following Matthew Perry’s tragic death indicate that there was no presence of fentanyl or meth in his system, according to law enforcement sources. The beloved actor, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on “Friends,” died at the age of 54 in an apparent drowning incident at his California home. More comprehensive toxicology tests are currently underway, which may take several months to establish an official cause of death.
Authorities received a phone call reporting that Perry was unresponsive in his hot tub. While the identity of the caller has not been revealed, reports suggest it was Perry’s assistant who made the call after returning to the residence.
LAPD Capt. Scot Williams, who leads the Robbery Homicide Division, stated that the cause of death may not be known for some time, but foul play is not suspected at this point.
Prescription medications found at the property will also be part of the review, following standard practice in such cases.
Perry’s co-stars from “Friends” expressed their devastation and described themselves as a family in a joint statement, pledging to share more when they are able. Additional guest stars of the beloved sitcom have also paid tribute to Perry in touching remembrances.
