This week’s Hawkeye teases a reunion of our two titular heroes, and as much as the change of scenery and supporting cast has livened up the book I feel like getting Team Hawkguy back together would make my heart do happy backflips. After the moments that led to their split slowly trickled out of the book, I can’t help but feel crushed by how much they need each other but how far they each are from being the partner that the other needs. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that Hawkeye is not a place for happy endings, and until Clint can take care of himself Kate should stay away lest she get dragged down with him.
