-THE IMPOTENCE OF POWERS

I’m not certain if it’s the incredibly erratic release schedule (31 issues in the last 90 months) leaving good stories feeling disjointed, or if Bendis has run out of good ideas, but there’s no power to Powers anymore. The stories haven’t hit home since Volume 2 ended, and the back half of that series was already steeped in the banality that would define the book in its future, but still had important and memorable moments here and there. For most of the past decade the moments haven’t felt as significant, and instead it feels like we’re switching tracks every few years just to change it up. It feels like nothing matters because nothing truly sticks.

Oh. Oh, I figured it out. It feels like a Marvel comic now.
