Robin Thicke’s new single “Give It 2 U” isn’t doing much to fend off the singer’s recent feminist critics.
The song comes just on the heels of Thicke’s Billboard Hot 100-topper “Blurred Lines” and its racy video, which has been criticized for its use of female nudity along with the lyric “I know you want it.”
The words of one feminist blogger, declaring the track “rapey,” has been following it around since the video’s unrated version was banned on YouTube earlier this year.
“Give It To You,” which features Kendrick Lamar as well as an “explicit” label, includes similar suggestive language. The song will be on Thicke’s upcoming album “Blurred Lines,” due out on July 30th.
