Slash Unveils ‘Orgy of the Damned’: A Blues Tribute Album with All-Star Guest Lineup

Slash’s upcoming blues covers album, “Orgy of the Damned,” set to release on May 17, is a tribute to his earliest influences. The 12-track LP features the renowned Guns N’ Roses guitarist reinterpreting a range of blues classics and lesser-known gems.

Included in the album are iconic tracks like Robert Johnson’s “Cross Road Blues,” Willie Dixon’s “Hoochie Coochie Man” (popularized by Muddy Waters), and T-Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Each song boasts a different guest vocalist, with contributions from Chris Robinson, Billy Gibbons, Iggy Pop, and Paul Rodgers, among others.

The lead single, a rendition of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” features vocals by Brian Johnson and harmonica by Steven Tyler. Slash expressed his excitement about covering this influential blues standard, recalling its impact on him as a young guitarist.

“Orgy of the Damned” marks Slash’s return to the blues genre, building upon his earlier exploration with the mid-’90s project, Slash’s Blues Ball. Reuniting with former Blues Ball members Johnny Griparic and Teddy Andreadis, along with newly recruited drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal, the band recorded the album live in the studio with producer Mike Clink.

The tracklist for “Orgy of the Damned” is as follows:

  1. “The Pusher” feat. Chris Robinson
  2. “Crossroads” feat. Gary Clark Jr.
  3. “Hoochie Coochie Man” feat. Billy F. Gibbons
  4. “Oh Well” feat. Chris Stapleton
  5. “Key to the Highway” feat. Dorothy
  6. “Awful Dream” feat. Iggy Pop

  10. “Living for the City” feat. Tash Neal *Special guest background vocals: Jenna Bell and Jessie Payo
  11. “Stormy Monday” feat. Beth Hart
  12. “Metal Chestnut”

With an eclectic lineup of guest vocalists and musicians, “Orgy of the Damned” promises to deliver a fresh interpretation of timeless blues classics, showcasing Slash’s enduring love for the genre.
