Taylor Swift is joining the Voice as a key advisor. Basically, she’ll be helping the contestants during rehearsals. Similar to what Randy Jackson did on American Idol.
This isn’t the first key advisor that’s been on the show. Chris Martin was the advisor during season 6 and Ryan Tedder has held similar roles back in season 5.

Swift’s appearance on the Voice will be on October 27th, the same day in which her new album comes out.
