McDonald’s Brings Back McRib Amid Fan Frenzy
McDonald’s has decided to resurrect the polarizing McRib sandwich, delighting some fans and vexing others. The fast-food giant had previously bid farewell to the pressed-pork sandwich in 2022 during what was termed a “farewell tour.”
However, in response to unrelenting demand, the McRib is making a limited-time comeback in November. A company representative stated, “It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib.”
This announcement comes after McDonald’s played with fans’ emotions by suggesting the McRib might never return last year, only to bring it back again this year.
The McRib, a seasoned, boneless pork patty drenched in barbecue sauce and garnished with dill pickles and onions, has a devoted following despite its polarizing taste. It was first introduced in 1981 and clocks in at 520 calories.
The sandwich returned for the first time since 2012 in 2020. Its revival this year has generated both excitement and dismay among fans.
Food blogger @snackolator’s announcement of the McRib’s return on Instagram sparked a lively discussion among followers. Some expressed delight, likening its return to that of Cher, while others criticized the sandwich.
The McRib isn’t the only limited-time item returning to McDonald’s menus this season. The fast-food chain has also brought back spicy chicken McNuggets for a limited time in participating restaurants, offering them in four sizes: 6, 10, 20, and 40 pieces.
