Usher Confirms Reaching Out to Justin Bieber for Super Bowl Halftime Show Collaboration

Singer Addresses Speculation and Plans for Future Collaboration

Usher has addressed the speculation surrounding his rumored collaboration with Justin Bieber for the Super Bowl halftime show, confirming that he did reach out to the fellow artist but explaining that the timing wasn’t right for their joint performance.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club on Friday, Usher acknowledged that he had contacted Bieber about appearing during the halftime show but revealed that they weren’t able to make it happen. “It didn’t work out with Justin. I honor and recognize that, my brother,” Usher explained, suggesting that Bieber may have been focused on telling a different story at the moment.

While the stars didn’t align for a halftime show collaboration, Usher emphasized that there’s no animosity between them and hinted at future projects together. “We’re gonna do something else in the future. No love lost or anything like that,” he assured, acknowledging the immense pressure associated with performing at the Super Bowl.

Usher expressed his belief that Bieber will eventually headline the halftime show, praising his career and predicting future success. “I profess that over his life. He has a career that deserves it,” Usher declared optimistically.

During the interview, Usher teased that he had reached out to other artists for potential collaborations during his halftime performance but remained tight-lipped about their identities. He emphasized his goal of curating one of the greatest Super Bowl shows of all time.

While Bieber didn’t join Usher onstage, he took to social media to show his support for the performance, showering Usher with praise. “LOVE YOU MY BROTHER,” Bieber wrote, expressing admiration for Usher’s talent and impact on the world stage.

Despite the missed opportunity for a Super Bowl collaboration, Usher’s halftime show was still a star-studded affair, featuring special guests like Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Lil Jon, Ludacris, and will.i.am. As fans eagerly await future projects from Usher and Bieber, the possibility of their collaboration remains an exciting prospect in the world of music.
