CNBC is reporting that Youtube TV is increasing its price from $65 to $73 a month. Youtube is blaming the cost of acquiring content as the reason for the price increase.
Youtube TV is Google’s option for the chord cutters of the world. On the service, you can watch live TV and cable via the internet connection you pay for.
“As content costs have risen and we continue to invest in the quality of our service, we are updating our price to keep bringing you the best possible service,” the company said in the email to subscribers (CNBC).
Other standalone streamers have also raised prices, including HBO Max, Disney Plus, and Apple TV Plus.
In December, Youtube TV was able to secure the rights to NFL’s Sunday Ticket for a $2 Billion price tag.
