Top 5 Christina Grimmie Songs

It saddens me to share the news once again, that YouTuber and former Season 6 finalist of The Voice was shot Friday night after performing in Orlando, Florida, and was rushed to the hospital in which a statement was released that she was in critical condition. Almost an hour later, it was announced that she did not survive the shootings.

For me, this story is truly heartbreaking. I remember, 6 years ago, coming across her YouTube videos, when she first posted a cover of her singing, “Party in the USA” and immediately I fell in love with her voice and personality. I enjoyed watching her videos so much that every time I was able to get on YouTube, I would immediately type in zeldaxlove64 (because for a while I had no idea what her real name was I just remembered her username) and hoping she had posted a new video of her singing. For 6 years she’s created an amazing fan base through YouTube, and in 2014, she competed in Season 6 of The Voice, where she successfully came in third place!

In honor of her passing, we have decided to put together a list of top 5 songs so that her music can continued to be shared.

#5. “Just a Dream” cover with Sam Tsui
Another cover from her YouTube channel that caught my eye. I actually like this version better than the original and I am not even sorry for it.

#4. “Must Be Love” original song
It’s catchy and upbeat, I always get this song stuck in my head.

#3. “Hold On We’re Going Home” Voice Performance
The performance that blew the world away, further proving that Christina can sing ANYTHING.

#2. “In Christ Alone” cover
Watching this video when it was first posted gave me goosebumps, re-watching it again now still gives me goosebumps, but also brings tears to my eyes.

#1. “Wrecking Ball” Blind Audition
This was the moment where she had all four judges fighting to be on their team. The moment that I was so excited to have seen after watching her for so many years on YouTube.

Honorable mention: MultiMediaMouth’s very own, Ruben Jay interviewed Christina and suggested that she do “Somebody That I Used To Know” and sure enough, Christina performed it with Coach Adam during the last week of performances.

At just 22 years old, Christina was taken from us too soon. She will forever remain an inspiration to myself and many others around the world. If you haven’t already checked out her new EP, “Side A,” I would highly recommend it, it’s only 4 songs, but they are all amazing. I just downloaded it on Tuesday and have not stop listening to it, and it will be that way for awhile. If you are interested in helping, there is a GoFundMe setup for her family.

“It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wounds,” the rep wrote. “We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning. If you’d like to give back to Christina’s family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need. https://www.gofundme.com/christinagrimmie.”

Forever in our hearts, we won’t forget about you…<3
