Impossible Foods hires new CEO; founder Pat Brown to step down

Impossible Foods has announced that founder Pat Brown will be stepping down as CEO, The New York Post reports.

The plant-based meat company also announced that Peter McGuinness, former Chief Operating Officer of Greek Yogurt make Chobani, as the new CEO. McGuinness will be responsible to oversee the the launch of new product from Impossible Meats.

One of the major challenges that McGuinness will face is the market climate over meat alternative companies. Demand over meat alternative products has declined in recent years.

The transition from Brown to McGuinness will take place on April 4.

“We just need more people to try it,” McGuinness said in an interview.

“We have more work to do on the distribution side … We could easily triple, if not, quadruple the distribution points (in the United States) at retail.”

The company plans to launch new products and expand globally.
